WALTHAM, Mass. — RTN Federal Credit Union member Sophia Nguyen is a winner of this year’s Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) Credit Union College Scholarship Program.
Sophia was one of 15 high school seniors who received a $1,500 scholarship through the CCUA's College Scholarship Contest and earned the CCUA’s Metro/Boston Chapter award.
Scholarship winners received their awards based on their applications, grade transcripts and essays, which asked them to describe what career they wish to pursue when they complete their education and why. Sophia noted in her essay that “Becoming a biomedical engineer, and eventually pursuing a career in medicine, is the future of my journey in helping others.”
