PLANO, Texas— Robert D. Ramirez, President and CEO of Vantage West Credit Union, has been appointed to Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee.
An Arizona native, Ramirez has been with Vantage West Credit Union (formerly Davis Monthan Federal Credit Union) since 1985 and at its helm since 2000. Prior to his career at Vantage West Credit Union, which is headquartered in Tucson and has assets valued at $1.6 billion, Ramirez worked for Sundt Corporation and Capin Mercantile Corporation.
Ramirez received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona. He also is a graduate of the Financial Management School at the University of Colorado, Boulder; the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) CEO and Strategic Innovation Institutes. Ramirez is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Active in numerous community organizations, Ramirez currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mountain West Credit Union Association and as a member of DM50, the 162nd FW Minuteman Committee, Pima Community College Foundation, Southern Arizona Leadership Council, SunCorridor, Inc., CUES, El Rio Foundation, Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Southern Arizona.
Ramirez will join Kerry Parker, CEO of A+ FCU; Craig Atkinson, CEO of Houston Highway CU; Candice Bracewell, CFO of LGE Community CU; and Jon Hernandez, CEO of CalCom FCU & Mattel FCU as the fifth member of the Supervisory Committee, replacing current committee member Steven Devan, CEO of East County Schools FCU, who continues to serve on Catalyst Corporate's Board of Directors.
Ramirez resides in the Tucson area with his wife, Katharine; they have a daughter, Gabriella.
