SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Redwood Credit Union has hired Michael Gay as controller of the accounting and finance departments.
In his new role Gay will provide leadership within the departments and oversee preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and management reports, the CU said.
“Michael is a great addition to our team,” said Kathy Parnell, RCU’s vice president of finance. “He brings extensive accounting and credit union specific knowledge which will support RCU’s vision and continued growth.”
A graduate of Golden Gate University and the University of Phoenix, Gay has extensive experience in the credit union industry. Previously, he served as vice president of finance at AltaOne Federal Credit Union in Bakersfield, Calif., where he was responsible for the accounting and finance departments, as well as facilities and building security. Prior to his role at AltaOne, Gay served as accounting manager at RCU, where he worked from 1997-2009.
