Reliant CU has '1 Million Penny Challenge' For Members

CASPER, Wyo. –Reliant FCU spearheaded a two-month event that encouraged members and non-members to donate to its “1 Million Penny Challenge” in order to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through Credit Unions for Kids. The event, hosted in Reliant’s four branches and online, netted $6,298.

“The program demonstrated how small actions can add up to make a big impact,” said Steve Higginson, president and CEO of Reliant FCU. “Pennies are often thought of as disposable, but when we combine them from many sources, the result is measurable and beneficial.”

The money will be donated through Credit Unions for Kids, a partnership between America’s Credit Unions and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that raises money to provide programs and services for more than 10 million children.  All funds raised stay local. Donations through Reliant’s campaign will support the CMN Hospital which treats kids in their community.
