NEW RICHMOND, Wis.–Royal Credit Union (Royal) has dedicated the Doar Community Room. The ceremony took place during an evening reception at Royal’s New Richmond office, where more than 80 people attended the event. Speakers included Rudy Pereira, President/CEO; Matt Hall, New Richmond Branch Manager, and Kathleen Doar, a family representative.
“We are honored to recognize the significant impact the Doar family has had on the New Richmond community and this nation,” said Pereira. “Royal Credit Union is proud to carry on their tradition of meeting the financial needs of residents in the St. Croix Valley and celebrates their legacy with the dedication of the Doar Community Room.”
A permanent plaque and portraits of the Doar family will hang in the Doar Community Room, honoring the family’s history in the financial industry and service to the community. Patriarch WT Doar arrived in New Richmond as a young lawyer in 1908. Before long, he purchased a share of stock in the Bank of New Richmond. Through the years the family and the bank grew. Upon Doar’s death in 1952, his two sons, Tom and John, both New Richmond lawyers, became directors of the bank and were involved in the formation of St. Croix Banco, Inc., later named S & C Banco, Inc.
“The Doar family is honored to have the room named the Doar Community Room in recognition of the strong commitment the Doar family has had to the community,” said Kathleen Doar, family representative.
The room is available for use by community groups during regular business hours.
