Royal Credit Union Names Beardsley EVP, Chief Legal Officer

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Royal Credit Union has named Grant Beardsley Executive Vice President- Chief Legal Officer.

In this role, Beardsley is responsible for developing and leading Royal’s corporate legal strategy. Beardsley joined Royal in 2019 as Royal’s first Corporate Counsel. Beardsley held extensive prior experience in the private practice of law representing businesses, individuals, and municipalities in all aspects of general corporate and transactional matters. Beardsley previously worked at Royal as a co-op teller from 2002 to 2006, and was part of the team that opened the first student-run credit union branch in Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  

“Over the past two and a half years, Grant has played an instrumental role in helping Royal better serve our Members and supporting the credit union movement at both the state and national levels,” said Brandon Riechers, Royal Credit Union President/CEO. “His values align with Royal’s core purpose, and his experience and strategic mindset make him an excellent addition to the Executive Team.”

Beardsley graduated from the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelors of Arts in economics and received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in Florida. Beardsley is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Florida.
