SAFE FCU Breaks Ground On New Branch

SUMTER, S.C.--SAFE Federal Credit Union has broken ground on its brand-new branch located on McCray’s Mill Road, bringing enhanced service and accessibility to its members in Sumter. This new facility will replace SAFE’s existing branch at the same location.

Originally built in 1989, the current 2,600 square foot branch will be replaced with a spacious 4,800 square foot facility that will feature expanded member amenities and upgraded technology. The project will be completed in three phases to avoid service interruptions to members.

The construction plan includes building SAFE’s new branch on the vacant lot adjacent to the existing facility. Once completed, the current branch will be demolished to make way for a separate, detached drive-thru featuring state-of-the art Personal Teller Machines (PTMs). The addition of two entry and exit points on McCray’s Mill Road will improve access for branch visitors.

“Branch renovations are part of SAFE’s ongoing commitment to provide our members with the best banking experience possible,” said President and CEO, Michael Baker. “This new facility’s improved access, modern technology, and more spacious design will offer extra convenience to members seeking branch services in the Sumter area.”
