RALEIGH, N.C.– State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) staff, local Advisory Board volunteers and SECU Foundation officials were among several hundred community leaders and supporters in Wilmington to celebrate the opening of SECU Family House at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC).
The SECU Foundation first announced its support with a $2-million challenge grant in 2012 for the construction of the new facility in partnership with New Hanover Regional Medical Center, its Auxiliary and Foundation. The 24-guest room hospitality house was open to attendees for an afternoon tour followed by a reception, during which time SECU Foundation Board Chair McKinley Wooten, Jr. presented SECU Family House at NHRMC with a check for $2 million on behalf of SECU members.
