BALTIMORE—State Employees Credit Union of Maryland has been named the preferred credit union partner of Coppermine under a new agreement announced by BASE Sports Group that will bring financial education, community events and digital outreach to thousands of athletes, families and staff across Maryland.
The partnership includes on-site activations at Coppermine properties and events, including NFL Flag Football programs, summer camps and the annual Cascade Lights holiday event. SECU also will provide quarterly financial wellness content, host webinars for families and employees, and participate in community events aimed at promoting financial education and increasing member engagement.
As part of the collaboration, SECU will launch a promotion in which one eligible family that opens a new account during the partnership period will receive a free season of Coppermine Summer Camp for a child. Additional chances to enter will be available through select community events and voluntary email signups tied to partnership activities.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Coppermine to expand our presence within such a highly engaged, community-focused environment,” said Toby Smith, SECU's executive vice president and chief relationship officer. “Financial wellness, much like physical wellness, is crucial to ensuring Marylanders at every age and every stage of life are happy, healthy and fulfilled.” Jordan Schwartzberg of BASE Sports Group said the partnership brings financial wellness into the youth sports experience while creating “deeper, more impactful engagement beyond traditional sponsorship models.”
