SLFCU Collects More Than 7,000 Books

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union (SLFCU) partnered with Sandia National Laboratories to collect more than 7,500 books for children throughout Albuquerque and the surrounding area for the Read to Me Abq Network.

The network is a regional, independent collaboration to encourage early childhood literacy that has been collecting and distributing new or gently used children’s books for nearly 22 years.

Books were collected for a month at SLFCU’s Albuquerque branches and during a one-day drive-through book drop-off.

"SLFCU is proud to partner with Sandia National Laboratories on this effort to help children throughout our community," said VP-Marketing Melissa Stock. "We've supported the Read to Me Book Drive for many years and are inspired each year by the incredible generosity of our members."
