MORA, Minn.–SPIRE Credit Union has been honored with the Business of the Year Award from the Mora Area Chamber of Commerce. The award celebrates SPIRE’s successes in the areas of growth, economic impact in the community, customer service rankings and creating a positive workplace for employees.
SPIRE sad it has been part of the Mora community since 1935, dating back to the original credit union, Greater Minnesota CU (GMCU). Like GMCU, SPIRE is a firm believer in giving back. In the past year and a half, they have supported nearly 50 different events in the Mora community, donated thousands of dollars in cash and items to charitable causes and local fundraisers, invested upwards of 500 hours of employees’ time and impacted countless lives.
In order to assure exceptional member service, SPIRE members are routinely invited to provide feedback through the Net Promoter survey program. A recent Mora member had the following to say about SPIRE, “I have banked with this institution for over 30 years. My parents brought me to the credit union when it was Greater Minnesota and I have stayed all these year because I’ve been very happy. I was very satisfied on my recent visit as the investment advisor was very efficient, knew his stuff and helped me make the right choice.”
SPIRE said its employees enjoy competitive wages and bonuses, excellent benefits, professional development coaching to learn about individualized strengths, and a culture that is respectful, rewarding and most of all, fun.
“Since SPIRE has such a rich history in Mora dating back to our Greater Minnesota Credit Union days, this award is uniquely special to our credit union,” says Dan Stoltz, SPIRE’s president & CEO. “SPIRE deeply appreciates this recognition as the Business of the Year as this award has become a hallmark of excellence in the Mora business community—this is a fantastic honor.”
