SPIRE Completes Merger with PEOPLES Community

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–Throughout the four months leading up to a recent weekend, a team of SPIRE employees diligently worked to combine the former PEOPLES Community Credit Union computer system with SPIRE’s Episys core processing system.

“After months of careful planning, our team executed a successful conversion,” said Janna Lipstein, SPIRE’s VP/Chief Information Officer, “I am so proud of our team!  Their hard work has paid off for our members.”

With a 95% affirmative vote from Peoples Community Credit Union (PEOPLES) members, a partnership/merger between SPIRE and PEOPLES became effective July 1, 2017.  Founded in 1939, PCCU was a Minnesota state-chartered credit union with over 2,700 members and nearly $22 million in assets.

“Members now enjoy a broader product line such as our free mobile phone app, free mobile check deposit, more,” said Dan Stoltz, SPIRE President/CEO, “This partnership brings countless opportunities to the former PEOPLES members.”
