FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.– SPIRE Credit Union recently hosted the Youth Leadership Board from the Minnesota Cooperative Education Foundation. Culminating two days of visits to cooperatives throughout the Twin Cities, including Land O’Lakes, The Wedge and CHS, SPIRE said it was able to provide education to this group of young leaders on the inner workings of a financial cooperative. SPIRE also illustrated their core philosophy of improving the lives of their member-owners.
The SPIRE co-op tour was well-received. “At Spire Credit Union, I had the opportunity to learn about credit unions and everything they do for their community here in the Metro area,” said Shania Landsinger, 19 year-old student of Winona State University. “We were also fortunate to go on a tour of the co-op and see ARCHIE!” Archie, a 1952 Ford work truck, is a SPIRE mascot, representing their commitment to hard work and Midwestern values.
“It was so rewarding to work this group of next-generation leaders,” says Bridget Petersen, Market VP of Community Outreach for SPIRE, “SPIRE has a long-standing commitment to give young people the education and tools they need to flourish in life!”
