SPIRE's Devasir Named A 40 Under 40 Honoree

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–Niel Devasir, Chief Information Officer (CIO) for SPIRE Credit Union, has been named as one of Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees. Each year, Business Journal editors sift through hundreds of nominations – more than 500 this year – and choose 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have already achieved great professional success, while also supporting community outreach initiatives in the Twin Cities.

“I am incredibly grateful, and humbled, to receive this award,” says Devasir. “I am also fortunate to work for an employer like SPIRE, whose values align with my personal beliefs; improving the lives of our member-owners.”

Divasir manages SPIRE’s technology strategy and infrastructure. His nearly 20-year career spans a Fortune 125 firm; private equity owned, mid-market companies; the 10th top credit union in Wisconsin, and now the 4th largest credit union in Minnesota. In 2014, Niel spearheaded a IT infrastructure conversion between Greater Minnesota Credit Union (GMCU) and SPIRE. Furthermore, his personal contributions as Board of Director for the American Red Cross of Minnesota, and Chairman of the Board for Christian Recovery Center, exemplify his commitment to upholding healthy and sustainable communities.

“We are so proud of Niel,” says Dan Stoltz, CEO/President of SPIRE, “His contributions have made SPIRE a technology leader, allowing us to serve our members to the highest potential. He is truly deserving of this honor and recognition from the business community.”
