Serve CU Distributes $18,700 to Iowa Nonprofits Through Giving Program

IOWA—Serve Credit Union and First Community Trust, N.A. (FCT) have distributed $18,700 to 11 nonprofit organizations through the credit union’s Charitable Donation Account (CDA), part of its Serve with Purpose community giving initiative.

The CDA, which is administered in partnership with FCT, allows the credit union to direct charitable contributions through a structured, governance-driven process designed to support community organizations and causes important to members.

According to Serve CU, the 11 recipient organizations were selected by its board of directors following a formal review process. While the nonprofits serve a variety of missions, each plays a role in supporting communities across Iowa where the credit union’s members live, work and volunteer.

“This distribution reflects our commitment to supporting those making a difference,” CEO Jami Weems said in a statement. “Our goal is to support those who serve our communities, including our members and the causes they care about, while helping strengthen the impact of their efforts.” The credit union said the donations are intended to create lasting community impact while reinforcing its commitment to purposeful philanthropy.
