PORTSMOUTH, N.D.– Grand Forks Air Force Base leadership, Nathan Twining School officials and Service Credit Union representatives were recently on hand to cut the ribbon at the Nathan Twining School Playground on Grand Forks Air Force Base.
The ceremony officially unveiled the new elementary school playground equipment which was made possible by a generous contribution by Service Credit Union. The playground is designed for children, ages 4 to 12 years old, and to add equipment for children with special needs.
The new equipment features three decks, a climbing wall, multiple slides, bongo steps with hand supports, a park ranger wheel, steering wheel and 10 spin merry-go-round. The two grooved slides, bell and critter puzzle game are sensory elements that enhance the play experience for children with special needs. The transfer and access points are handicap accessible.
Col.Therese Bohusch, Commander of the 319th Medical Group, praised Service Credit Union for its generosity not only at the school but throughout the Grand Forks Air Force Base military community.
“Today marks an exciting day for the Grand Forks military community, Twining School and Service Credit Union as we celebrate the playground,” said Timothy Haddock, Service Credit Union Grand Forks Air Force Base Branch Manager.
