ROCHESTER, N.H. – The SHARE Fund, a Rochester-based non-profit organization that provides assistance to families in need during times of emergency and hardship, was the recipient of matching $1,000 donations from Holy Rosary Credit Union (HRCU) and Bernier Insurance Inc.

The donations come on the heels of The SHARE Fund being awarded $3,000 from the Safeco Insurance Make More Happen promotion, an online contest that recognizes non-profit organizations country-wide who go above and beyond to make a difference in their community.  It was Bernier Insurance Inc. that initially nominated The SHARE Fund for the award

The SHARE Fund has served the Rochester community for over 20 years, originally as an outreach program of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.  While being most well known for operating Gerry’s Emergency Food Pantry, they also provide clothing, shelter and financial aid to those experiencing hardship.  In 2014 alone, The SHARE Fund has assisted over 4,000 local families.

“We feel it is our responsibility to give back to those organization who so selflessly provide such critical aid to those in our community,” said HRCU CEO Brian Hughes.
