HOUSTON– For the fourth consecutive year, Smart Financial Credit Union was named one of the “Best Companies to Work For in Texas.” One-hundred companies were named to the list.
This year, the credit union ranked #21 in medium sized employers (100 – 499 employees). The annual list is a project created in 2006 by Texas Monthly, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), Texas SHRM and Best Companies Group.
“The enduring dedication of our board of directors, employees, and members is what makes this honor possible,” said Larry Seidl, CEO of Smart Financial Credit Union. “We’re extremely grateful to have been recognized on a statewide-level for the fourth year in a row.”
For more than a decade, the “Best Companies to Work for in Texas” has conducted an annual statewide search to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Texas. Companies must meet the following requirements to be considered for participation:
After qualifying, companies enter into a two-part survey process. The first step is an employee benefits and policies questionnaire, which evaluates each nominated company's workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practices, and demographics. An employee engagement and satisfaction survey is then disseminated among staff to measure the employee experience, the credit union reported.
Together, the combined scores determine the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group manages the overall registration and survey process, analyzing the data to determine the final rankings. The rankings were revealed at the “Best Companies to Work for in Texas” event held on Thursday, March 23 at the Sheraton Austin at the Capitol.
