SAUK RAPIDS, Minn.– St. Cloud Federal Credit Union has opened a new branch here. With more than 2,000 members living in the Sauk Rapids community, the new branch represents a means to serve a large population of members, the credit union said.
At the same time, it allows the organization to engage in a new community and expand its membership base. The new branch will be located in the heart of Sauk Rapids at 205 2nd Street North.
Founded in 1930, St. Cloud Federal Credit Union ais ir has a rich history in Central Minnesota. Throughout the years, the organization has prided itself on high community engagement, both through the relationship with their members, as well as with local organizations also committed to strengthening communities. As part of its cooperative model, the credit union said it also believes giving back is a responsibility and part of their mission. Sauk Rapids also has a lot of rich history and is a natural next step for the credit union.
Jed A. Meyer, President and CEO of St. Cloud Federal Credit Union, made it a top priority to open the Sauk Rapids branch after joining the organization over four years ago. With thousands of members in the area and an expansion on the east side of the river, Meyer knew it provided an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. While the credit union has been involved in the Sauk Rapids community in causes such as the local parade, and being the primary sponsor of the Tanner’s Team Walk/Run, a physical branch presence will accelerate the credit union’s community investment.
