MANCHESTER, N.H.-— Patrick Sheehy, Branch Coach Float at St. Mary’s Bank, has been nominated to receive a 2018 Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) Young Professionals Award of Excellence.
Each year, the CCUA bestows Awards of Excellence to its member credit unions that go above and beyond to promote credit unions and the cooperative business model and advance financial literacy. The Awards of Excellence also recognize young professionals who demonstrate their commitment to the values and principles that define the credit union industry, the CU said.
“Patrick joined St. Mary’s Bank a mere three years ago, but he has quickly become a valuable asset across our institution,” explains Ron Covey, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Bank. “From supporting his coworkers and our members to giving back through his volunteer activities, Patrick truly embodies the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People.’ I am so proud that he has received this recognition.” In his role as Branch Coach Float, Sheehy spends time in each of St. Mary’s Bank’s nine branches, where he assists new employees transitioning from training to the branch environment and covers open positions during recruitment. Behind the scenes, he trains new tellers in a classroom environment. Sheehy serves as an active member of the St. Mary’s Bank Community Outreach Committee, which reviews applications requesting funding from St. Mary’s Bank’s 1908 Fund and annual scholarship program, and the credit union’s Spirit Team, which works collaboratively with Human Resources to coordinate employee events throughout the year, the CU said.
In the community, Sheehy brings to life St. Mary’s Bank’s mascot, Super Saver, giving high-fives to senior citizens, playing keep away with teens, and engaging with young children. He supports local arts organizations, Boy Scout efforts, and special events. “I love being part of this organization, and I put my heart and soul into my work,” states Sheehy. “I am truly honored and humbled to have my contributions recognized, first by St. Mary’s Bank and then by CCUA. I look forward to growing my career at St. Mary’s Bank and continuing my commitment to credit union values.”
