Suffolk FCU Donates Funds to 2 Organizations

MEDFORD, N.Y.–In an effort to support the charitable work of local organizations that serve the areas of Suffolk Federal branch locations, the credit union said it has identified nonprofit organizations to which to provide financial support. In Miller Place, Branch Manager Gregory Bryan presented a $1,000 contribution to The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club.

“The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club is doing great work in our local community,” said Bryan. “They bring together people from across our surrounding communities to help improve the lives of local residents here in Suffolk County. We are extremely happy to be able to assist their efforts and do our part.”

“The Port Jefferson Lion’s Club raises more than $10,000 per year to feed more than 120 families in need during the holiday season,” said Dean Jenkins, Port Jefferson Lion’s Club President. “Our club and the volunteers within the community pack and deliver the food to these families. This generous donation from Suffolk Federal will be a great help in this effort.”

Separately, Suffolk FCU contributed $1,000 to Airborne Tri Team, a nonprofit organization that is dedicating to providing means to achieve a better quality of life for veterans in need.

“We are extremely proud to support Airborne Tri Team because we believe in the work they do for veterans,” said Ralph D. Spencer, Jr., president & CEO at Suffolk Federal. “So many men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation by laying down their lives to protect our freedoms. But what we must remember always, is that their fight doesn’t always end when they return home. They are faced with significant challenges as they work to adapt to civilian life. At Suffolk Federal, we feel that it is our responsibility to show the same dedication and commitment to our veterans and their families that they have shown to serving our country.”
