TFCUniversity Holds First Clinic

HAUPPAUGUE, N.Y.--Teachers Federal Credit Union held the first installation of its TFCUniversity Business Clinic series titled, “Secrets to Building Your Business on Long Island.”

The meeting was held at TFCU’s headquarters and featured Long Island business owners and leaders, and had more than 100 registrants. The keynote speaker was Susan Axelrod, founder of Love & Quiches, the highly successful company she started in the kitchen of her home 40 years ago. The event also included a panel discussion moderated by Henry Bramwell, president of Visionary Graphics. Panelists included Clay Darrohn, CEO of Fishbat; Barry Shorten, co-founder of Alcott HR, and David Jacobson, CEO of GrooveCar. The panel discussed such topics as how demographics matter to your business, how to use Long Island’s unique geography in your favor, how to create a loyal community of ambassadors to further promote your products or services, how to hire the right people who understand the market, and how to diversify and create multiple streams of revenue. In addition, a lively discussion was held on the Long Island brain drain and start-up funding.
