To Mark 70th Anniversary, Robins Financial Donates $70K to Groups

MACON, Ga.– Robins Financial Credit Union donated $70,000 to Bibb County non-profits in honor of its 70th anniversary at the grand opening celebration of its new Downtown Macon branch.

“Our commitment to being ‘Community Proud’ means that ties to our community go beyond the walls of our branches,” CEO Christina O’Brien said in a statement. “We actively participate in local initiatives and volunteer at various community events because we believe in improving the lives of those around us. A strong community benefits us all, and we take pride in contributing to this positive change.”

Three of the donations were given through the annual Robins Financial Community Project initiative that started in 2015 and that has contributed to more than $1.6 million to non-profits within the communities they serve since its inception.

  • Men About Change received $30,000 to provide educational aid, mentoring and leadership support to youth.
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities received $15,000 to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
  • Otis Redding Center for the Arts received $10,000 to continue to provide opportunities for students to explore their creativity, learn to collaborate, communicate their ideas, and better express themselves.

An additional donation of $15,000 was awarded to Bibb County Schools’ education program for homeless students under the McKinney-Vento Act, which supports youth and their education during challenging times.
