Together CU Supports Financial Wellness

ST. LOUIS– Saying it has sought to grow connections and strengthen relationships in the neighborhoods of Metropolitan St. Louis, Together Credit Union has provided community-based financial wellness opportunities and encouraged employee volunteerism.

“Individuals and families continue to struggle with financial uncertainty, and we felt it was important to be present and accessible in our community to provide guidance and support,” said Larry Sewell, VP-community outreach.

Together Credit Union said its comprehensive financial wellness efforts included online resources, in-person and virtual workshops and seminars, as well as community and school-based programs.  Nearly 250 hours in programming were offered in 2021, impacting 245 youth and 1,325 adults.

In addition, Together Credit Union said it partnered with community organizations such as the St. Louis Regional Financial Empowerment Coalition, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, and Boys Hope Girls Hope of St. Louis to support financial education events and panels and promote financial education initiatives throughout the year.

“Service was another key priority for Together Credit Union. Over the past 12 months, credit union employees volunteered more than 2,200 hours with local nonprofits,” the credit union said. “Additionally, over 150 Together Credit Union employees gave back to the community for Service Day 2021, making more than 450 Book Buddy packs; 500 dental kits for kids and adults; 350 pet toys for dogs and cats; and 310 baby and pet blankets.”
