Town & Country FCU Staff Raise $1,000 for Non-Profits

SCARBOROUGH, Maine–Town & Country Federal Credit Union reported it took its commitment to participate in #GivingTuesday to a new level this year.  The first-ever, #TCFCUGivesMore initiative, aimed at empowering employees and increasing the impact of contributions, the credit union matched each employee’s contribution up to $10.  The one-day initiative resulted in contributions totaling nearly $1,000 to close to 20 non-profits selected by employees.

“Feedback from employees was really positive, as they appreciated having the freedom to contribute to a non-profit of their choice,” said President and CEO Dave Libby. “We had a diverse mix of organizations that our employees contributed to, indicative of the many causes and organizations our employees are passionate about.”

Some of the organizations receiving contributions from credit union employees include Camp Sunshine, The Travis Mills Foundation, Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center, Hospice of Southern Maine; Portland Trails, and many others.

“It was great to see a number of employees post on their own social media pages about making a contribution using the hashtag, #TCFCUGivesMore,” said Jon Paradise, VP-Public Relations and Communications at the credit union. “This initiative reinforced the value that credit union we places on community and the varied interests of employees. We also highlighted some of the organizations that employees contributed to on our social media channels.”

The #TCFCUGivesMore initiative is but one example of how Town & Country has supported charities and non-profits in the past year, the credit union said.  During 2018 it has contributed nearly $110,000 in financial support to a variety of causes, and an additional 1,000+ hours of volunteer support.
