SCARBOROUGH, Maine–Town & Country Federal Credit Union’s 2018 Better Neighbor Fund charitable giving campaign has kicked off.
Since 2010, Town & Country has granted more than $200,000 to support 64 local charitable programs through the Better Neighbor Fund. This fall, the credit union will grant another $25,000 to local non-profit organizations across Southern Maine through the online program.
Town & Country President & CEO David Libby said this year's Better Neighbor Fund grants will go to eight non-profit charitable organizations from across Cumberland and York Counties to fund special projects and new initiatives designed to support the community.
Town & Country will be accepting entries for the 2018 Better Neighbor Fund through Sept. 25th. The first 25 applicants that best meet the qualification criteria will be selected as nominees and advance to the public voting phase, which will take place on Town & Country’s Facebook page during October.
The organizations that get the most online votes will be the winning recipients of the eight grants.
Libby said it is important for the 25 nominees to promote their cause to generate as many votes as possible.
"We know there are many organizations involved in countless worthwhile projects in the community and we are excited to provide an opportunity to fund some of these initiatives through the Better Neighbor Fund," said Libby.
