FORT WASHINGTON, Penn. — TruMark Financial Credit Union recently sponsored a blood drive to support the American Red Cross.
Twenty-two pints of blood were donated, which have the potential of saving more than 66 lives.According to the Red Cross, the summer months are among the most challenging times of the year for blood and platelet donations as regular donors delay giving while they vacation and participate in summer activities.
The credit union holds three blood drives annually as part of its community outreach program.
“Our employees understand the importance of donating blood used for life-saving treatment and emergency care in our community,”said Karen Sweeney, senior vice president, chief human resources officer. “We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross to help raise awareness of the need for new blood donors,” said Sweeney.
