TruStone Financial Raises Funds for Juvenile Diabetes

PLYMOUTH, Minn.– TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union employees recently raised $724 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The TruStone Financial Foundation matched these funds dollar-for-dollar for a total donation of nearly $1,500 to JDRF.

The donated funds were raised at TruStone Financial’s monthly Charity Casual Day, an employee-driven initiative in which employees can wear jeans on a designated Friday in exchange for a charitable contribution. The TruStone Financial Foundation then matches the amount raised through employee contributions. Together, TruStone Financial employees and the TruStone Financial Foundation raised almost $25,000 for charities in 2017.

Sue Edin, has first-hand experience of the life-changing work JDRF does to support those with type 1 diabetes and inspired the credit union to donate to JDRF for February’s Charity Casual Day. “Type 1 diabetes affects millions of families – families just like mine. I’m thankful to my colleagues at the credit union for supporting a cause so near and dear to my family.”

“We are grateful for TruStone Financial’s support of JDRF,” commented Kris van Osnabrugge, Associate Executive Director of JDRF. “The money raised by TruStone Financial funds our research and is making an impact on the lives touched by type 1 diabetes.”

Staff Development Manager and Charity Casual coordinator Taylor Ritchie noted, “It’s staggering how many of our own credit union employees reached out to say how they have been affected by type 1 diabetes within their own family and friends circles. It’s gratifying to know our employees support one another for causes that are close to them.”
