TAMPA, Fla.—USF Federal Credit Union was the title sponsor of the 29th annual Brunch on the Bay, the premier fundraising event for the University of South Florida’s (USF) Sarasota-Manatee campus.
The event took place on the USF campus and raised $400,000 to support academic scholarships for students and campus initiatives of the fast-growing USF campus.
This marks the fourth year of USF FCU’s multiyear title sponsorship of the event – “underscoring the organization’s dedication to supporting education and giving back to the community it serves. As a financial institution deeply rooted in the university’s mission, USF FCU is committed to empowering students while helping to pave the way for their educational success,” the credit union said.
This year’s event brought together community leaders, students, educators, and philanthropic partners. Attendees enjoyed culinary creations from the area’s finest restaurants while celebrating community, humanity, and the achievements of USF Sarasota-Manatee students, USFFCU added.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this incredible event and to support the growth of the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus," said Richard J. Skaggs, USF FCU president and CEO. "As an organization, we believe in giving back and investing in the future of our community. Education is a vital part of that future, and we are honored to play a role in helping students achieve their goals."
USF FCU said its commitment to education and giving back to the community extends beyond this event. In April, the credit union announced a more than $1 million gift to the University of South Florida through a combination of scholarship endowments and title sponsorships of signature events.
