University CU Partners With Child Life Program

LOS ANGELES— University Credit Union (UCU) has entered into a new partnership with the Child Life Program in conjunction with UCLA’s Mattel Children’s Hospital. UCU noted it has been a proud supporter of the Mattel Children’s Hospital for more than a decade with the annual Toy & Book Drive and said it is humbled to increase their relationship with the institution.

UCU formed a formal agreement with the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital earlier this year to benefit UCLA to advance its not‐for‐profit mission of education, research and service. This new joint venture will help promote the good works for the Chase Child Life Program, raise awareness and funds to support their outreach as well as increasing the field of membership for UCU, the credit union said.

“A significant part of our core values is to advocate, educate and innovate,” said UCU President and CEO Dr. David Tuyo. “UCU is devoted to improving the lives of our members and the University communities we serve through charitable donations and outreach. We are about building relationships with students, employees, faculty, staff and alumni and have been serving the University community since 1951.”

Along with an impressive donation of new books and toys collected by the members and employees of UCU for the children being attended to at the hospital, UCU presented a $5,000 contribution to the Child Life Program to kick off the partnership.
