Wright-Part CU Donates $180,000 To Two Causes

FAIRFIELD, Ohio–Wright-Patt Credit Union has donated $180,000 to two local non-profit organizations. The donations — from Wright-Patt’s Sunshine Community Fund — will provide $90,000 to Crayons to Classrooms and $90,000 to United Rehabilitation Services.

Crayons to Classrooms waid it will use the funds to provide children in need with the basic school supplies essential to academic success at no cost to their teachers, families or schools.

United Rehabilitation Services said it will will use the dollars to enhance the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities or other special needs.

According to the credit union,  WPCU Sunshine Community Fund is an employee-driven initiative. Each year, workers host events and fundraisers to raise money for the selected recipients, including an annual golf outing that raised a record $80,000 in 2016, which also had area business participation.

Since 2013, WPCU employees have raised more than $654,000 to benefit Dayton-area organizations.
