EL SEGUNDO, Calif.– Xceed Financial Credit Union commemorated National Financial Literacy Month by partnering with the credit union’s charity of choice -- Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals -- to collect and contribute hundreds of new books to CMN’s Literally Healing program. The Literally Healing program includes a dedicated therapeutic library with more than 1,000 specially selected books that are designed to help children build mastery, courage and hope while they are in the hospital. Another component of the program uses books as gifts for patients to provide them with a source of distraction during their recovery.
“At Xceed Financial, we’re huge supporters of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and big proponents of literacy,” said Xceed Financial President and Chief Executive Teresa Freeborn. “Financial Literacy Month gives us an opportunity to combine those two passions, while also calling attention to the many financial education resources available to our members throughout the year.”
In addition to the book drive, Xceed is marking Financial Literacy Month by offering a number of complimentary resources, including helpful articles, calculators, videos, a recorded webinar, and two special youth websites that focus on teaching good money management skills at a young age.
