LIVONIA, Mich.– Zeal Credit Union honored the winners of the credit union’s 2017 scholarship awards at its 62nd annual membership meeting. Seven scholarships totaling $14,000 were presented to graduating high school seniors in metro Detroit.
This is the 23rd year of the scholarship program which honors longtime credit union volunteers and recognizes outstanding students who are Zeal Credit Union members. Nearly $235,000 has been awarded since the program began.
In applying for the scholarships, students were asked to write how they live with character, feel with empathy and act with passion in their school and community. The topic underscores the mission of Zeal Credit Union to serve its hard working members with passion, empathy and character.
“It is inspiring to learn about the hard work of these deserving students,” said Lisa Fawcett, vice president of marketing for Zeal Credit Union. “We had many worthy applicants and want to thank all of the parents, families and educators who support these students throughout the year.”
