With Branches Closed, 3 Rivers Sends Staff Out To Volunteer

FORT WAYNE, Ind.–3 Rivers CU here used the closure of its branches on President’s Day to have its employees go into the community and volunteer their time.

According to the credit union, approximately 180 employees provided volunteer work to 18 non-profit organizations in its markets, including Junior Achievement, Community Harvest Food Bank and the Allen County SPCA. 3 Rivers has 260 employees overall.

It wasn’t the only CU to use the day for getting involved in the community. As CUToday.info reported here, the staff of Forest Area FCU in Fife Lake, Minn. Used President’s Day as a day to “Pay it Forward,” with a team of employees distributing $500 in the community.
