WASHINGTON--With penny supplies tightening nationwide, credit unions are being urged to treat the shortage not as a disruption, but as a test of member service—one best met with early communication, clear explanations, and tailored guidance for different member needs, according to America’s Credit Unions.

Anyone who has spent time in a large family understands how shared responsibility actually works in practice. Most simply do what needs to be done… setting the table, helping in the kitchen, carrying their share of the load… without much fanfare. The work moves forward because it’s collective and necessary, not because it’s loud.

WASHINGTON--Collaborating on a wide range of issues affecting the movement, America’s Credit Unions, American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL), and state league communications and engagement staff planned ahead for 2026. Staff from across the country met for an online meeting Dec. 16, to follow up on discussions at the AACUL Winter Meeting earlier this month, ACU reported.
