MONTICELLO, Fla.—Jefferson County Teachers CU has launched a savings promotion aimed at members 12 and under. In addition to free memberships, JCTCU is giving away colorful piggy banks that already have anywhere from $10 to $25 inside.
“We believe this is a great way to teach children to save money and feel strongly there is no better place to learn than your credit union,” JCTCU said in a statement.
LONG BEACH, Fla.– LBS Financial Credit Union partnered with three local school districts over the summer to collect school supplies for the 2014-2015 school year. The program, promoted during summer months at all of LBSFCU’s six branch locations, via marketing materials, newspaper advertisement, Facebook page and on its website, raised more than $1,300, which the credit union then matched.
DOVER, N.H. – Holy Rosary Credit Union has opened the new HRCU Community Room within its branch here. AURORA, Ill.—One-hundred seventy high school students from Metea Valley High School learned just how complicated it is to make household budgetary choices when they participated in the recent Mad City Money program facilitated by Great Lakes Credit Union. The program helps young adults learn what it is like to try to budget and manage a real life salary and real life situations. Students were given an occupation along with a salary, family, student loan debt, credit card debt, and cost of medical insurance to create a monthly budget as they visited various merchants and made decisions based on the management of their income.

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.- Teachers Federal Credit Union donated school supplies and $500 to Family & Children’s Association, a not-for-profit agency helping to protect and strengthen vulnerable children, seniors, families and communities. The check was presented at TFCU headquarters. Separately, TFCU presented a $500 check to the Cleary School for the Deaf.
